They say your freedom is gone when you have a child.  As you wore your 4th shirt this weekend that said, “Freedom Rocks,” it made me giggle.

Six months.

Last night I went to bed around the time we got the call.  Got the call that you were on your way.  As early as it was, I was nervous, but I knew God was in control.  I should have known that it was a preview to how you would be.

Early to giggle in your sleep.  Early to babble constantly.  Early to do so much.  Yet, you also take your time.

Jase, you have kept us on our toes from day one.  My first words you could hear were, “THAT’S NOT A GIRL,” after all.  You’ve been Mama’s boy ever since.

I cannot believe we are here.  ½ a year.  ½ a year of a different breed of sleep.  Of snuggles.  Your sweet face.  Watching you chew on everything you can get your hands on.  Making you giggle to the point you sound like a pterodactyl.  Seeing your pure joy when you get to jump and play with “your friends.”  Your complete awe each night when we read.  And the love everyone has for you immediately.

Every single day I find moments where I just can’t stop staring at you.  Being your Mom is the greatest gift ever.  The last 6 months have not been what I pictured they would be.  I saw more zoo trips, and baseball, to name a few.  But, they have been freeing.  We have gotten this uninterrupted time.  Simple, sweet memories have come from our hibernation.

Never doubt how loved you are.  Wanted.  Adored.  CHOSEN.  We waited a long time for you.  And I hope you will slow down, and wait to grow up.  Jase, you are the best part of my world.  Love you, boy boy.  Thank you for making me a Mom.
